Terms of Service
The deal for using Bacon โ as a developer who earns, or an advertiser who funds campaigns. Plain about the money: how developers get paid, and how advertiser deposits work.
Last updated June 13, 2026
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service are a binding agreement between you and [Bacon legal entity โ to be named before launch] ("Bacon", "we", "us"). By installing the Bacon plugin, creating an account, or funding a campaign, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you accept on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it.
2. Definitions
"Developer" โ a user who runs the plugin and earns a revenue share. "Advertiser" โ a user who funds and runs campaigns. "Impression" โ a single labeled ad served to a developer. "Surface" โ a placement (spinner, statusline, strip, card, marquee, and higher-intent context placements). "Prepaid ad credit" / "deposit" โ funds an advertiser adds to their wallet to pay for impressions. "Ledger" โ our double-entry record of all value movement.
3. The service
Bacon is an advertising network for AI coding agents. It matches labeled ads to a developer's coding context, pays developers a share of the resulting revenue, and lets advertisers reach developers at the moment of intent. Every ad is labeled with the ๐ฅ marker. The service is currently in early access and may change, and features may be added or removed.
4. Eligibility & accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. Earning requires a Bacon account โ developers must create one to earn, and accounts are authenticated through our provider. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
5. Developer terms
When an ad you display is settled, you earn a revenue share recorded in the ledger: 50% of the base rate for the placement shown (the surface floor). The amount an advertiser bids above that floor does not change your share. Earnings mature after a 72-hour hold before becoming available, and are paid only through supported payout rails once any applicable minimums are met.
Earnings are a revenue share, not wages or a guaranteed amount. We make no promise as to fill rate or how much you will earn. Impressions we determine to be invalid or generated in bad faith may be withheld and the associated earnings forfeited (see ยง9).
6. Advertiser terms โ funding, bidding, and deposits
Advertisers pre-fund a prepaid wallet that pays for impressions directly. Campaigns clear in a first-price auction: you bid a CPM, and the effective CPM is your bid multiplied by the surface's multiplier, never below that surface's floor. The spinner, statusline, strip, and card surfaces are free to run; $100 in cumulative funding unlocks the premium surfaces. You set a daily budget and pacing stops you at it.
Ad content must be lawful, truthful, and non-deceptive, must not contain malware or attempt prompt injection, and ships with the ๐ฅ Sponsored label. We may reject or remove any creative at our discretion.
We target fewer than 5% invalid impressions via layered detection plus a 72-hour hold; impressions determined to be invalid are not charged.
Advertiser deposits (prepaid ad credit) are FINAL and NON-REFUNDABLE. Funds may be spent ONLY on serving your campaigns' impressions through the Bacon auction โ they cannot be withdrawn, transferred, redeemed, or converted to cash.
7. Taxes & fees
All amounts are exclusive of taxes. Advertisers are responsible for any sales, use, VAT, GST, or similar taxes on their purchases, except taxes on our net income. Developers are responsible for any taxes owed on their earnings and for providing accurate tax information where required for payout.
8. Acceptable use
You may not commit fraud; generate, inflate, or manipulate impressions or the auction; interfere with the network's integrity; reverse-engineer the service except as permitted by law; or scrape, resell, or misuse data obtained through the service.
9. Fraud detection & enforcement
Bacon runs continuous, layered fraud and invalid-traffic detection โ including rate limits, velocity and new-account checks, impression-validity scoring, and a 72-hour maturation hold before earnings become available.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to flag an account, place holds on or withhold earnings, freeze a wallet, reverse or forfeit fraudulent or invalid earnings, and suspend or permanently ban any account or advertiser.
Any attempt to manipulate, inflate, alter, or circumvent the auction, the impression flow, the earnings ledger, or our fraud-detection systems โ or to tamper with, reverse-engineer, or evade them โ is grounds for immediate holds, forfeiture of affected balances, and termination or ban, without refund.
10. Intellectual property
Bacon and its marks (including the ๐ฅ marker) belong to us. Advertisers retain ownership of their creative and grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, and display it within the service for the purpose of running their campaigns.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. As an early-access product it may contain errors or be interrupted. We do not guarantee any particular earnings, fill rate, reach, or campaign outcome.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bacon is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenue. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the three months before the claim or US$100.
13. Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold Bacon harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms โ including, for advertisers, claims that their creative infringes rights or is false or deceptive.
14. Termination & survival
You may stop using the service at any time; uninstalling the plugin halts data collection immediately. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to protect the network. Prepaid ad credit remains non-refundable on termination. Sections that by their nature should survive termination โ including ยงยง6 (deposits), 9โ13, and 15โ17 โ survive.
15. Dispute resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve it informally by contacting legal@geturbacon.dev; most concerns can be resolved that way. If we cannot resolve a dispute within 30 days, the parties agree to resolve it by binding arbitration administered by [arbitration body โ to be selected] under its rules, on an individual basis. You and Bacon waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action, to the extent permitted by law. Either party may still bring an individual claim in small-claims court or seek injunctive relief to protect intellectual property or the integrity of the network.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [governing-law jurisdiction โ to be set before launch], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
17. General provisions
These Terms (with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and Bacon and supersede prior agreements on this subject. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. The parties are independent contractors; nothing here creates an agency, partnership, or employment relationship. Notices to you may be given in-product or by email; notices to us go to legal@geturbacon.dev. Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control (force majeure).
18. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product evolves; material changes are reflected by the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated in-product. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
